How much does it cost to attend the reunion?

The cost of the reunion is $100 per person (and a small charge – less than $7 per person--to use the reunion registration service).

The reunion will include heavy appetizers and food stations and a no-host bar, meaning that if you choose to drink alcohol, you will need to pay for that drink on your own.  Each of our bars will have wine, beer, hard liquor, and soft drinks.  Water and coffee are provided by the hotel at no charge. 

Although our reunion is being held from 6:00 p.m. to 10 p.m., the hotel has offered to keep the hotel foyer bar open until midnight if we have individuals who would like to continue their conversations with high school friends.

How do I make a hotel reservation?

We suggest that you stay at the Marriott Newport Beach Bayview. We have reserved a block of rooms which, as long as they last, are guaranteed for $149 plus taxes outlined on the hotel page of this website.  Each room is a suite that includes a separate bedroom and small living area.

The hotel will not accept reservation more than a year in advance.  Therefore, you will need to connect with the hotel via our webpage on approximately September 22, 2017 to make your reservation at the reduced reunion price.

What is the dress for the evening?

The dress for the event can probably be defined as dressy casual, which, for women, includes the following:

  • Dress

  • Skirt and dressy top

  • Dressy pants outfit

  • Nice jeans and dressy top

For men, dressy casual usually includes the following:

  • Seasonal sport coat or blazer, and slacks

  • Dress shirt, casual button-down shirt, open-collar or polo shirt

  • Optional tie

This, however, is just a suggestion and you should wear whatever you wish that makes you feel comfortable.  Remember, we were children of the “60”s and hence, are free spirits.

** Please be aware that the reunion will be held partially outdoors.  You will therefore need to bring a jacket or wrap of some sort to keep warm for when you are outdoors.


The hotel is just two miles from the Orange County (John Wayne) Airport.  If you are traveling by plane, you can take either a taxi or Uber from the airport to the hotel. 

If you are driving to the hotel, you will be given complimentary self-parking on the day of the event (up to 10 hours); if you are a hotel guest, you will receive a discount of $15 per car, per day when you stay overnight (the night of the reunion).

Registration for the reunion

You can register for the reunion by going to the registration tab of this website.  In addition to paying for the event, we ask that you also complete the various sections of this website.  By doing so, you assist us as we attempt to match tickets purchased with the individuals attending the reunion.


When you pay for the reunion at Eventbrite, you will be given the opportunity to make a donation to the event.  If you are able, we appreciate any level of donation you can make to assist us in offering the best possible reunion experience we can to our El Monte High School colleagues.  If you choose to make a donation, we will list your name in the memory book that will be available for purchase at the conclusion of the reunion.

Is the hotel ADA compliant?

Yes.  The Marriott Hotel is wheelchair accessible.
